Its 9am and the scent of freshly made coffee fill the air. I’m sitting in a cosy Italian café called Caffe Respiro in Portobello, London, waiting for Val Jobara to arrive. Val said it would be great to meet up at this café because the atmosphere there is lovely.

Sitting here and looking around I understand why Val loves this place, there are actual movie covers everywhere, it feels like your in a small museum which honours both the living and the dead actors of our time.

As he walks in, one of the things that strike you is that Val Jobara is a very charming guy, a women´s man I would like to say. The ladies in the shop smiles at him and he returns the smile with a “How are you doing today”.

Val Jobara is in his early 30s; he studied acting at Stella Adler academy of acting in Los Angeles and also in New York (famous alumni’s are Marlon Brandon, Robert de Niro, Meryl Streep and Benicio del Torro to mention a few). Born and raised in Sweden but Val currently lives and works in the showbiz capital of Europe, London, pursuing his dream of making his big breakthrough in showbiz.

As we start talking it becomes clear that he has lived in the states for a long time, he has a very obvious American accent which he cant loose, when I ask him about it he says “I have been trying to get rid of it but I just cant shake it, every time I try speaking London English my friends just laugh at me”. After he gets settled in the couch and starts sipping on his Americano (coffe) he says “ Shoot, what do you want to know?”

Did you always know that acting was what you wanted to do?

” Before I became an actor I was a photographer living in Rome. I loved it, my major was the nude body, men, women, old as young. It all changed with me having a really rough day, I was struggling and feeling out of place, I went to the movies  just to try to get my mind focusing on something else. After watching the movie I was so inspired it made me realise that what I really wanted to be was an actor. It has been tough and still is but after each part I play I get closer and closer to my goal.”

“The toughest part is to keep the motivation going and not to give up. It’s difficult finding motivation to keep going after you get No after No. It’s all about that ONE big movie, if you get that ONE, it all changes. There is a saying within showbiz that if you keep at it you will succeed within 10 years so I still have some years left before I reach those 10…”

For us “mortals”, having a part in movies such as Kick Ass or Rush would be a big break, but Val has his aim a lot higher and wont be giving up any time soon. I am confident that he will be one of the next big Swedish showbiz names, he definitely has the talent and the spirit to become one of those names that always will be mentioned among those handful actors that has that allusive star quality.

As we leave the café and walk along Portobello road sharing a laugh at a joke a man walks up, grabs Val by the arm quite intensely and looks him straight in the eyes. His name is Jimmy, Jimmy the gypsy and as he stares Val in the eyes he says, “In 4 ½ years you will be a movie star”, then he holds out his hand jokingly asking for money. Val smiles and reaches into his pocket and gives Jimmy all his change, not to mention my lighter.

What struck me the most with this very strange encounter was the comment “in 4 ½ years you will be a movie star”, this man out of nowhere, a con, fake or real, it doesn’t matter, the fact is out of all people he walked up to Val and said that.

I completely agree with Jimmy, Val Jobara will be a movie star, we will see him on the big screen, maybe not today, not tomorrow but soon enough he will get his big break.

I dont believe in fate, what would be the point in living if you whatever you do is already predicted and you cant change anything? I believe one comes to a crossroad where you will encounter different paths to take, you are the master of your life, you are the only one responsible for the choices you make and you are the one that will live with the consequences. Its not like thinking like that makes things any easier but that’s just me, nothing to do about that.

Since there is no point in looking back and start regretting things its always better to look forwards and try to figure out what my next step should be and use what I have in my past as guidelines on what not to do and what to do from now on.

Sounds good when I write it but its a helluva lot harder doing it in real life then writing about it here.

No time to write more, real life is calling and its time to go to a job that pays my rent.

A friend of mine took me to a store called Next, I needed a pair of black pants, a couple of black shirts and a black tie, guess how much that cost me.

Pants – 50£

Tie – 10£

2 slim fit shirts – 40£

Take my word for it I looked smoking hot my first night at work and it only cost me 100£!! The guy in the store even helped me put the tie on

From now on I will buy a lot more from stores like this one, sorry Prada but a poor “student” cant afford to spend his lunch money on your suits any more…

Normally the KEEP CLEAR is not visible, usually its covered by a Ferrari, Bentley or Maserati. Its amazing how this street was crowded 2 hours ago and now there is no one on the streets.

I strongly believe people can change, I know a lot of people that have changed and me myself has changed over the years, the only thing that takes some time to understand is that YOU cant change anyone, THEY have to want to change in order to change.

Ok, so this is what I found on world-of-lucid-dreaming.com:

Ok, so what I dreamt was some sort of coded message sent from my subconscious, so either I’m repressing a desire and my dream is trying to tell me that I should do something about it or its what I personally believe (hope), that I fear that my dream might come true (it wont because I wont let it) so that’s why its haunting me in my sleep…

I found some really interesting facts about dreams on a web page called boredpanda.com, here are some of the facts that I found on their page:
