Moving to London
So I have been living here almost a week now and I have to say this was one of the best things happening to me in a long time. The first couple of days I stayed with a friend up in Kensal Rise and a good friend of his offered me to rent a room in his flat on Portobello Road. For those of you considering to move here the rumours are true, the rent will kill you! But its worth it without a doubt! I have been walking around London city just to get a feeling of all the different areas and I have to say that Notting Hill and the Portobello area are the best in my opinion. Just outside my door I have the Portobello Market which offers everything from fresh strawberries to crepes and its cheap as well!
The first thing that you need to get when moving to London is obviously a place to stay, next thing is a bank account and this can be a bit tricky. I went to HSBC the other day and they need a proof of address in order for me to open an account. Since Im not written at the flat Im staying in right now we solved it by going to MailBoxes and I bought a mail box with them. It was not cheap, 3 months cost me £84 + £10 registration fee but it solves my problem with an address fast and convenient.
Im a little stressed out when it comes to finding a job but Im sure I will find something soon… I hope
Stay tuned since I will be posting more regularly about my life in London, where to eat, party and shop
